Would stealing a monitor from my workplace be justified in this instance?

Yousif (Joe) R asked:

I AM PISSED OFF!

My workplace lost my time sheet and they told me that I would be compensated next month…

The thing is… I HAVE BILLS DUE NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

I am so pissed off I am about to start a fight…

Since I’m pretty much screwed – my credit is going to be ruined, and everything else will be lost… should I just jack a monitor?

Can I sue for this?

    No.
“Since I’m pretty much screwed – my credit is going to be ruined, and everything else will be lost…” – I don’t agree with your conclusion here. Call your creditors NOW and explain what has happened. IF you take the time to call them they will work with you. If they have to call you they will be less likely to do so.

Calm down, take a minute. Then maybe you can ask for an advance from your boss based on what you expect to get.

You can go to jail for stealing a monitor. Regardless of how upset you are, don’t do anything stupid. One month isnt going to ruin your credit. Simply call the people you owe money to and explain to them whats happened. They should be willing to help you out.

Sounds like you need to switch to a better run workplace, one that isn’t so badly organized…….

Don’t steal the monitor, Karma will come back at them in due time, as for you wages, I would say to bug the ever living hell out of them until they pay you for your time, in the mean time try to find a better run place to work because your current employment obviously isn’t very well organized.

ok being a litle late on your bills will not make your credit be ruined unless it already is. See if you can get a certified letter from your boss saying you will be getting compensated next month, then call where your bills are, talk to them about it – and you can fax them a copy of the letter along with the phone number with your work number so they can call to verify it if they need to. and no sorry stealing a monitor wont help your case they can take you to the cops, and deduct it from yoru paycheck…

I think they are probably violating the law by deferring payment to you. Don’t jack the monitor, that would just get you in bigger trouble if caught.

How will a stolen monitor help with your bills??

What good would it do to steal the monitor? Are you planning on selling stolen property? You could go to jail if you got caught. Is it really worth it? I’m sure they can cut you a check for your pay.

“Stealing is NEVER justified” You will only make things worse. Would been in jail make you feel better? Getting fired and no job how will you pay those bills. If you don’t like where you work- look some where else, but don’t quit til you find another job. Think before you act wait a while , a day or two. Maybe a loan or a friend can help you out .. don’t do anything stupit ……

Calm down, and don’t steal the monitor! That ain’t going to put food on your table or pay your bills. Just go to payroll and ask for an advance, seeing as it was THEIR fault you lost your time sheet! They have to realize there people who live Check to check, and you are one of them! Goog luck!
